The rapid growth of mobile platforms has created new opportunities for information dissemination, yet it has also led to the proliferation of misinformation, which poses a significant threat to society. The constant exposure to false or misleading content can undermine public trust, distort political views, and affect individual decision-making. Traditional methods for detecting misinformation rely heavily on content-based algorithms that analyze factual accuracy, but these approaches often miss the emotional or psychological impact that misinformation can have on users. This paper proposes a novel sentiment-driven information retrieval (SDIR) approach to combat mobile misinformation by integrating sentiment analysis with traditional fact-checking mechanisms. By considering not only the factual content but also the emotional tone and user sentiment, this approach offers a more holistic solution for identifying and mitigating the spread of misinformation on mobile platforms. The results of this approach could enhance the effectiveness of content filtering systems, improve user awareness, and promote the dissemination of trustworthy information, ultimately supporting a healthier digital environment.
